Lake Tahoe Maternity Session
There’s something truly magical about photographing a maternity session at Lake Tahoe—especially during golden hour. Recently, I had the joy of capturing a beautiful family of three at Kings Beach, just before they welcomed their newest little one. This session was extra special because it not only celebrated mom’s pregnancy but also gave them their last family portraits as a family of three.
We met just before golden hour, when the light at Lake Tahoe is at its most dreamy. The shoreline at Kings Beach was the perfect backdrop, offering sparkling blue water, soft sand, and a stunning view of the sunset skies painted in warm pinks, oranges, and golds. Golden hour never disappoints—it created the most flattering glow and gave this session such a timeless, romantic feel. During our session, I focused on both maternity portraits and family moments. Mom radiated beauty as we documented her pregnancy, and I loved capturing her connection with dad and their sweet big brother-to-be. These images are so meaningful because they mark the end of one chapter and the beginning of another. Maternity photography is not just about the bump—it’s about telling the story of a growing family, and this family’s love for one another shined through in every photo.
One of my favorite parts of this session was when mom decided to step into the water for a few fun and adventurous shots. I absolutely love when clients are open to ideas like this because it adds variety, personality, and a little extra magic to their gallery. The combination of the lake water, sunset colors, and her maternity glow was simply breathtaking.
